Women’s Equality Day Virtual Celebration

August 26th, 2020 marks 100 years of Votes For Women. Moves in association with Aflac, NYSE, and the US Army are celebrating this momentous date with a series of events.

Starting with the swearing-in ceremony for future female soldiers at the “Fearless Girl” statue outside of the NYSE,  led by LTC MP Whitney Jensen and MAJ MS Gifty Weefur, it includes the prestigious ringing of the NYSE Closing Bell and a virtual panel discussion on how far the US has progressed towards gender equality in the ensuing 100 years since the 19th Amendment was ratified.

Ringing NYSE Closing Bell in Honor of Women

NY Moves, in association with Aflac Incorporated (NYSE: AFL) and the US Army, will ring The Closing Bell® to highlight Women’s Equality Day on August 26th, 2020, which marks 100 years of Votes For Women. This event is one in a series of events to commemorate this day, which kicked off with a swearing-in ceremony for future female soldiers outside of the NYSE, led by LTC MP Whitney Jensen and MAJ MS Gifty Weefur.

The Moves Virtual Panel: ‘Equality for Women’

Led by Moves publisher Moonah Ellison with Aflac’s Catherine Hernadez-Blades & Sarah Plaster, SmartSheet’s Anna Griffin, and LTC Jensen, the topics were wide-ranging and the exchange of views, frank and fearless.
