Together we climb against the hour
Racing for power in creative fields
That effort alone only rarely yields.
If only we could scream and steal.
Or become one of those who always kneel
for someone else’s life’s ideal.
Not us.
We are artists.
We create the pages of stories untold,
Of lives yet to unfold,
I admire the patience
You taught me. Of time
Not wasted.
But rather, well spent in passion.
(Nature’s perfect crime;
Mind over matter).
Everything is temporary,
Chatter.
For us so different.
We still have time.
You tock.
I chime.
